Breeding and Foaling Seminar

 

Come join us for two days packed with information, live demonstrations & hands on learning.  Offered April 28 & 29 from 9am-4pm.  Lunch will be provided.

· Preparing the mare for breeding

· Monitoring of estrous cycle

· Artificial insemination

· The problem mare

· Factors which affect fertility

· Choosing the right stallion for your mare

April 29th

· Foaling signs

· Stages of foaling

· What to expect during foaling

· What is normal and what is not

· Post foaling care of the mare & foal

· Orphaned foals

· Handling of the foal

Participants who register will be “on call” the days leading up to the seminar and the day following the seminar should any mares be really close to foaling.  We encourage participants to bring a sleeping bag should they want to camp out and try to see a LIVE foaling.
